Chevy Orange or Black

I'm thinking of pulling the engine to do some detail work.
While I have it out, I was thinking maybe I should paint it orange. But the rest of the car is all red and black.
Here's a pic of what it looks like now:

What do you think? :-\

The engine looks great, but being black, it kinda disappears in that black engine compartment. Orange would make it stand out, though it might clash with the red paint job. Have you thought about painting the engine red? It could solve both problems.

Paint it aluminum color or cast-iron.
but then, I think it looks good as is.

I vote for red accenting on the already black engine. Less work, more detail, and I think it would look great. Though I would leave the intake and pulleys raw like they are now under a clearcoat.

Red car, red engine

They dont have to match perfectly, its an engine bay so there's some leeway.

I've always been a sucker for a color matching block and body


... But seriously, my biased thoughts aside. Some kind of cast, aluminum, or silver would look really good too. Red, black and silver is one of my favorite color combos.

I been meaning to call you, but on holidays, I'm never up early enough, and I've only got your shop number.

I love your engine bay the way it is, but being more of a Camaro purist, I'd have to say go the Chevy Orange.

Mine used to be black, and yeah, it kinda disappears into the murky blackness.

With that black bay the motor gets lost but the Orange might be too much...Red would reall yset it off IMO...It may be too much an aluminum color cuz of all the other parts in the bay it may overkill.....

Normally I would say to paint it Chevy Orange, but in this instance, I voted for Red to match the car.

I voted orange, but to be honest anything would be better than the black. Just because like everyone's said the black blends in too much.

I voted for "cast". I painted my 440 for my last Road Runner black, and you couldn't find any leaks (NOT that either of us could have any!). Red would be OK, but orange would clash with the whole rest of the car.
