How does a person get the plastic upper intake apart from the aluminum lower intake without ruining or breaking something.I've taken out all the perimeter bolts and the throttle body off but it seems as though something in the almost middle underneath is holding it on.

There are o-rings, and tiny snaps on the
fuel module that you'll have to work against.
Use a medium size screwdriver, and pry between the intake(lower)
and the plenum ,
while working the oval part of the module, with the other hand.
It should come off, just be careful. -

the center - around the injector /spider gets stuck -oval shaped o ring
gently pry on that areaComment

I had a little trouble as well, but the o rings will come loose. Just be careful with the fuel injector thing a bob. I couldn't get this thing out, it felt like it was going to break. I just crossed my fingers that it wouldn't leak and put it back together. 34,000 miles later, no intake or fuel leaks.
when in doubt,.. throttle outComment

Re: 1999 Chevy Vortec 350 Intake
Thanks guys for all the advice. I had the oppertunity to take off for a couple days down to south western In. (Freench Lick) The Mom & Pop -inlaw live there. I took off a half day friday. Was going to leave around lunch time went the little lady comes home with a freeze plug spraying on her GMC Safari . Had to fix it before we left in the T/A since both daughters needed to go to jobs while we were gone. So...........four hrs later we got to leave.I'll give this stuff a try Sunday after noon. Think I'll try it on the intake thats on the truck. I have to switch these because I pulled one of the studs out that pulls the fuel line tight.Comment

If it were mine I pr :-obably would but, it is for my youngest daughter and she just wants it to run. I have been tinkering with this off and on for a yr. Started out as a head swap job that just keeps snow balling. :-[Comment
