There is also VFW post 1318 only about a block away from the Alliant Center in Madison. Its a little smaller then the 8483 post but closer. There is also the Ollin Park just across the road too. Would have to check with them both but might be options.

Unfortunately I will not be going on the tour this year. Since I see it has not been brought up, I am hoping some one will step up and organize a show this year. I don't know if there is a Vets home/hospital in Madison or not. Please don't let this die, in the past it has been great and the older Vets in the homes have loved it. If someone steps up and is willing to organize it I will help as much I can.Ron Reidell

There actually is a thread already started, called "Veteran's Visit ......". So far nothing definite has been decided.

I sent an e-mail to the Public Affairs person at the hospital in Madison since the lady that answered the phone said he was off today. We'll see what he says or where he refers me to.
Looks like all the actual Vets Homes are over 100 miles from Madison so we'll look into the VA Hospital as we did in Arlington and Detroit.Phil / Omaha

Most of the VFW's have Friday Night Fish Fry's Open to the public. Maybe we should all just chose one of the local VFW's there in Madison, (there are 3) and attend the fish fry and have a mini little cruise night.
The VFW by the airport has a large grassy area next to it so if parking becomes and issue they might be able to park cars on the grass.
The other 2 VFW's have good size lots but no where to overflow.
However one is also located right down the street from the venue.
Maybe they can let the committee and the local veterans in the area know that we are bringing some cars too so that local vets can attend that might not usually attend the fish fry?.
The money from the fish fry will help the veterans at that VFW, my only worry is that we are excluding the other 2 VFW's in the area, and want to support those veterans that are part of that those too.
Any thoughts?Long Hauler 2009, 10, 11, 12, 15 3 of 7 in 2013 5 of 8 in 2014 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT

I like the idea of the VFW next to airport, lets make a decision and let them know so they can advertize it and maybe more people will attend and they make more money. What say y'all?Long Haul Gang 2011,12,13,14,15,16,17,19
