  • 2015 Northeast Rod Run

With this year's trip just ending and being our largest to date (40+ cars), it's time to start planning next year's run. As always it will take place over the first weekend of October.

As all NERR veterans know, the details usually don't start to come out until after the first of the year, but as they also know, they are never disappointing. The only thing I can say for sure right now, is that it will be heading in a more western direction than this year's trip did, so that should make it easier for many of the participants.

The one thing that might be different with next year's trip, is that we might be able to start booking our host hotel within the next month, as I am currently in talks with their group sales manager. That is a HUGE and substantial change for us because of the limited options, in the northeast, at that time of year.

All of the important info comes out on NERR's own website first, although forums such as Bangshift, along with Facebook, are sometimes used to let people know that updates have been posted over there.

With our size growing as it is, I think we might be making one small change starting next year. It WILL NOT change the trip at all, but it would make things better for many other people.

Looking forward to seeing you all again in 2015!

We've already secured two of our three hotels for 2015's trip. In our 8 years, this is the earliest we've ever been able to do this

Just putting this back to the top, to keep next year's trip in people's thoughts.

For those of you that don't frequent NERR's website, we are already booking all 3 night's hotels for 2015's trip and many of the trip details are really starting to come together also.

An early show of hands is looking like we have people coming down south from Canada, from as far west as Michigan and possibly even coming up from the Gulf Coast this year.

I have to say that our reach has now gotten bigger than we ever could have expected, when we started this thing 7 years ago, with participants from just 3 of the New England states and one person from New York.

Only 5 months (or 22 weeks) from today, all this year's Northeast Rod Run attendees will be meeting up at our first night's host hotel.

This year we are expecting people from the most states we have ever had. Looks like people are coming from further distances than ever before.

We only have a couple more months of guaranteed discount rates at our lodging locations.

For 2015, our official hotels locations are......

              Friday, October 2nd: Burlington, Vermont
              Saturday, October 3rd: Rutland, Vermont
Sunday, October 4th: Lake Placid, New York

For people coming into the area a day early (Thursday, October 1st), we also have them staying at a nice location in Princeton, Massachusetts. That lodging is located only a few miles from our first planned mountain-top drive

We are kicking everything off just 8 weeks from today and at least one of our host hotels has sold out and people are booking at alternate locations
