"Official" 2014 Hotel Thread

We booked the HIE in the Dells, rates are jacked up now.

They are burn out friendly...

If the first venue is at Wisconsin Dells, and if the hotels jack up their prices, we plan to get our rooms on the route between the first and second venue.

That's exactly what We are thinking. I have no love for the Dells. We splurged and stayed at the resort-not going to do that again. Had to have my GF set-up a chair and stake out a parking spot near our room.

On the way up- probably stay in Madison,WI- less than a hour away- more hotels and hopefully better rates.

We made reservations at the Quality Inn in Wisconsin Dells for $94 a night (Senior rate) just in case that is the first venue. The night before we are staying in Mineral Point WI for $76 a night.

We also got the cancelable Quality Inn senior rate deal too. However, like Richard454 I also have no love for the Dells so that may also change for us. May stay somewhere out of the area the night before & down the route a ways Saturday night. Just waiting to see what the next stop on the route is.

Wonder where the Vets Home might be nearby - may be better to stay near there Thursday night.

Mineral Point is 1 1/2 hour, 75 miles from WD.

Large VA hospital down here by me on the navel base....we could then party at my house on Thursday night or Friday night... 2.5 - 3 hour drive to the Dell's over 50% country roads to get there.
