I don't get out much with a toddler - but those places sound interesting. There's a lot of good things going on in the Detroit area in spite of the negative press we get most of the time, I'd like to check some of these places out myself.There's always something new to learn.

If you want just local beer go to the Blind Pig Brewery.
There are tons of places downtown champaign to get your fix of beer. Probably 150+ different beers on tap within walking distance.
