2018 Starting Line?

I made a reservation at the Econolodge on Scottsville Road for the 1 & 2. Friends stayed there last week for the Hot Rod Reunion and said it is clean but breakfast is not much. Several restaurants are close by. Hotels in surrounding towns are also expensive.

That place was packed! I hope we have an opportunity to see that again it was great. And yes we missed a lot of folks that were there.

We are running the countdown as if it starts June 1st/2nd... but unknown for sure. I made reservations for both weekends, and despite what a few others have noted, I've got both weekends cheaper than my 2017 rates (2017 were $105per nite @ Country Inn&Suites)

We did the same, both weekends. Military rate at Holiday Inn Express is still $91.00 for either weekend

I also made reservations both weekends and the price was the same. I sure wish that they still had the same plan they did back in 05-08. At the long hauler meeting they would always announce the dates and usually a couple of stops. Now all they seem to want to do is keep people in the dark.

I'd settle for the start and end stop. If they want to keep the speculation about the middle... sure, whatever... I just don't get the mystique of keeping it secret so long.

It's possible they don't know either. This year they were switching over from family events so it took a while to figure it out. I was going to go to drag week in St. Louis but now I don't feel like it's worth the drive. Maybe I will have time to change my mind.

I did - it was OK - not bad, nothing special.

Well, I'm excited for next year. I've had a new issue with my car every year (auto trans in 2014, ignition 2015, overheating 2016) and I fixed each before the next tour with an upgrade, coming down to the wire each time, T-5 5 speed, GM HEI, and most recently moved from a stock 17" radiator to a 1969 24" with dual ford contour fans. I can crank the A/C on high and she'll sit in traffic between 190-195. I couldn't even turn the A/C on last year. Thanks to the power tour I have a car that's comfortable to drive and can go to Cali and back.

She's ready for next year. I'll finally get to be one of those guys that says "wash, wax, and gas."

Did anyone stay at the Quality Inn in BG? How was it?

Some of our friends also stayed at the Quality Inn and had the same opinion as Phil. They also said the parking lot was small.

Oh - and they had my beer in longnecks Jack. Ha !
