    Tapping Out

    Sadly it looks like I am tapping out, luck just hasn't been on my side this year. The engine was back in car and running Sunday but needed a little more adjustment on the carb. Monday night everything was good, had it out driving pulled back up to the garage and it started knocking. Pulled the motor back out and dropped it off at the machine shop today, so it looks like Saturday in KC is it for me this year. I sure hope everyone else is having better luck in their last days of thrashing.

      That's too bad, sorry to hear that. A friend who was going with us suffered the same fate with their 1960 Ford Galaxie so they won't make it at all.

        I haven't heard anything yet, the builder came over and listened to it and thinks the wrist pin on #1 is hanging up. Either way he knows I am pissed especially since he took his sweet time.

                I saw all of your FB posts... sorry man

                It sucks too because the start is so close to you. Maybe take mon/tues off work and just roll in your DD for the first couple of days and head back home? Might help to forget about the motor thing for a bit.

                I posted daily albums on facebook in 2015 when Jena went with me... guess what started popping up yesterday?

                    I will be KC tomorrow to attempt to catch with everyone for the year. The engine ended up having a cracked piston skirt on #1, it is all back together and ready to go back into the car. Hope to see everyone tomorrow, if not be safe and have a fun trip.
