  • Corvette on hrpt?

I've looked through a lot of the rides for each year threads and don't see many vettes. Who has taken one previously? I'm thinking of trading my 2008 jeep Rubicon for a 2002 z06. But power tour 2017 is on my to do list with my wife.

    TIA
    Aaron

Well don't pack many shirts you'll be buying some, I myself do a wash night middle of week while we're socializing in the parking lot I'm washing clothes. I'm hauling two boys ( not in my Vette ). Just have to break it down to the essentials. Maybe some of the regular Vette guy's will chime in! Some folks will Fed Ex things home in the middle of week to make room!

It's all in how you pack it. In 2014, I packed clothes for 5, (enough for 11 days,) full tool bag, jack, 2 bags of snacks, ice chest, five 12 packs of drinks, first aid bag and entertainment bag, in a 2008 Cobalt trunk. Plus, we also had 5 in the Cobalt, and all the swag for 6. It's all about traveling lightm

Rooms booked, money saved, still up in the air about which ride is going. Daughter is taking her 2015 Camaro, Son is still unsure Cobra or Trans Am, and We have "A," "B," "C," and a "D." But, Lord willing we'll be there.

My wife and I did 2 weeks in our 2002 Z06, 3800 miles total. It's a very comfortable ride and the best part is the the Z has a trunk that is open into the cabin. We packed chairs, a cooler, a big roller duffel, an emergency kit and still had room to bring home 5 pairs of shoes from shopping and a shop stool I won. We averaged about 24 mpg with speeds up to mid 80's, but mostly just staying with the pack. In town is a pain with the 6 sp, but a ton of fun everywhere else. This year we didn't want to put all the miles on it so we bought a 06 GTO for this year. I would not hesitate to drive it again. Have fun.

Oh and I'm 6'5" about 275 and the C5 is the best fit for big guys!

We did the 2014 Longhaul and tried to do the 2015 LH but a very noisy con-rod bearing resulting in cutting the trip short of the last two stops - the last 25 miles on a flatbed!!!

My GF and I covered almost 3000 miles in a little over a week in 2014 and 1800 miles in 2015 in my 1973 T-top L-82 4 speed w/ NO luggage rack!!!

We stayed at hotels that had laundry and just packed light!!! Shared toothpaste and shampoo!!! We found two chairs that were just short enough to fit above the wheel well and put all my tools inside a garbage bag in the spare tire underneath the car. A really small cooler was fit in the storage compartment behind the seat.

Another friend of ours- changing a bad brake caliper in Memphis- He's running sidepipes- and actually had some jackstands strapped underneath the car where the mufflers use to reside!!!

Last 25 miles- at least the flatbed had AC as we didn't!!
