Test drove the truck today with full functional cruise! Yeha! Has resume also. It's going to be a nice tour this year with this addition.
If I don't get the car done, my Z71 has great cruise control! I kid... my parts should arrive this afternoon... my goal is to have it off jackstands tomorrow so I can break the posi in and put a few miles on it. Then I want to take it over to Steve's for new dual exhaust saturday morning.

Well, Im not gonna pull the engine and overhaul it the week before I leave this year.
By the end of the long haul last year I was all over the roads, looks like I need tie rods and an upper control arm bushing.
But outside of that and some maintenance stuff I hope I should be ready to go!
After a disappointing run yesterday I got all the parts for the tune up tomorrow. I was hoping to have the exhaust done before the tour but it looks like that may not happen.
She left the garage!!! Everything is still loose, but it won't take long to get her ready for a test drive. Fired right up too. Probably won't make the exhaust shop, I think they close at noon on Saturdays. Always next weekend. Exhaust isn't really a "must" but I can't hook up my ebrake until I get the exhaust redone and it sucked not having my ebrake on the tour last year with a manual.

First time I started my car it smoked like a chimney and a plug wire held the throttle open. I had to leave the garage open and find some place to be while it aired out. It had a 307 then and a 350 now. Then the brakes were no good so I redid them. Still no good so I put discs on the front.
Didn't absolutely need it but changed out the original, dinged, dented, patched tank. Hopefully now my fuel gauge will read correctly. Also changed all the soft gas hoses. They were rough. Surprised they hadn't already leaked. They pretty much fell apart in my hands when I pulled them off.
Got the valve springs swapped today, as well as the A/C evaporator removed...purrs like a kitten now. Now to get the Evap tested this week and hopefully be installing A/C next weekend!!

I put a hundred miles or so on her this weekend. Ran well. Was fun. Just little stuff now. Exhaust shop next weekend. New trunk seal. Once new exhuast is in finally hook ebrake back up - when I installed the new cross member for the T5 it moved it back far enough so that the ebrake arm was hitting my exhaust so I had to leave it off.

The floors look great for an almost 25 year car in WI! Was the Camaro originally a WI car?
Thanks. The car is super solid. This is the only rust we have found anywhere. It was originally from Detroit. The whole story is in the project thread if you are interested. http://www.bangshift.com/forum/forum...rs-convertible
Yeah... that was someone's toy that they NEVER drove in the winter. The undercarriage looks as good as any 80s/90s SC car I've seen. Growing up in western NY I remember a lot of people had new fox's and 3rd gens they bought new that were only driven when the roads were clear and washed of salt. I wonder if a bunch of them look as good as your car or if the 2nd, 3rd, etc owners didn't give a crap and ruined them.
