Several years ago, the HRPT route was from St Louis to Miami, OK. I did a search and found a site that had information about each state it passed through. Our daughter/family visited several museums in some small towns in western OK a few weeks ago where Route 66 runs along side I-40

There is an app out there that shows your location and lists everything around you. You just click on the bubbles and it tells you all about that item on the Route66. It was $4.99, I think, but it was the best $4.99 we spent when we did the whole Route on our way to Detroit for the Power Tour a few years ago. And it lists everything.. And NO I don't remember the app name. But it shouldn't be that hard to google and/or search..Good luck. It was a trip of our lifetime..

We have done a little of the Illinois route, every available mile in Missouri and some bits and pieces from Oklahoma to Arizona. To do the whole thing will take some time because you have to get off and on the interstate and drive through many small towns but it is worth it.Last edited by 69SS 350 5 Speed; August 9, 2015, 04:05 AM.Jim & Maureen

i did some of rt 66 thru ks and oklahoma with a guy from canada i think he had a lincoln some othing old like maybe a 55?Comment

I only know the western part of the route but I do have a friend in california that puts on Route 66 tours. He knows all the good stuff. I'm sure he could recommend some great places along the way or books to steer you in the right direction.Life is too short to drive boring cars!Comment
