  • Drag Week Pontiacs...Post 'em up!

As a spectator last year, I was a surprised at the low turn-out in 2013 for Pontiacs....especially Pontiac powered Pontiacs. From what I've seen, there seems to be a lot of Pontiacs registered this year. If you have a Pontiac registered for Drag Week 2014 please post what ya got. Pontiac with Pontiac power, Pontiac with "other" power, or another breed with Pontiac power.

I'll start. 68 Firebird with a basic pump gas, aluminum head, flat tappet cam Pontiac 455 running in SR/BB/NA and will probably run low 11's or high 10's.

I don't think my text showed up... having some issues posting. '91 GTA I brought last year, I've had it 15 years. I swapped back to a T56 this winter, hoping to shift my ways to 10.0's or maybe a bit more.

Sadly that is a good depiction of my last few years. Out of 9 years I did complete 6. Bad is last 4 I got through 1. Hope that a lot of money spent will change that. 400 with a gear venders instead of triing to do it with a 200r4. Love the 200r4 for its low drag and a high overdrive but not for this anymore. Complete new valve train with steel T & Ds, pac springs and Crower bushed lifters. Vince

OMG, the new forum sucks (add link doesn't work, thumbnails don't work, edit post doesn't work properly, etc.)

                trying the full manual approach:

Ok this is the post for all of us animals that like rowing our own. Post up your car, engine , trans and modifications , clutch and rear gear and

Doug, glad to see you'll be there this year! If for some reason my GTA isn't ready I'll be bringing my daily driver '99 Trans Am convertible. 346ci LS1, all bolt-ons, T56, and 4.10's. Its much slower, but my DW backup car.

80 turbo trans am. ran 2012 with a last minute sbc/2004r. that ran 14's
2013 had a 408 Pontiac, 6x's with stamped rockers ,8.3:1, th350, 4400 coan(not 3200 like I was told) 3.70 geared stock posi 10 bolt. got nitrous to work from day 2 on. averaged 12.0. got some 11.8xs. ran an 11.84 coasting through the lights last day after a 1.56 60 ft. popping and cracking all the way.
I had planned on bringing a different machine this year, but this one may be back instead. just bought a house in the country that has miniscule shop space. a lot can happen in 74 days
