curious the difference in STREET RACE and SUPER STREET classes.

Just wondering what the difference between the two classes, I read the rules but wasn't real clear the difference.

No funny car cages in street race, no rear coil over conversions, no aftermarket wings, stock frame must remain structural (not just a sliver of stock frame in the rear reinforced with additional tubing.) Those are a few.

Limited to a 8.50 cage. Full factory frame rails. If turbo, it must be mounted in front of the fire wall along intercooler and intercooler water tank.

Thus it is limited to 8.50 quarter mile ET. This hasn't been an is due yet as the fastest Street Race average ET to date was Curt Johnson's 9.11 last year in Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated. Pictures of Minitubs and other other mods that affect the rear frame rails should be sent to [email protected] for pre approval if you want to be sure about a rules interpretation. The other major difference is Street Race does not allow replacement front suspension clips like those offered for early Nova's.
