Why a limited class? not sure it's needed. And I don't like the 8.50 rule for street race. not that I will ever be that fast....
used to be purplecobra, now just myself. I still drive a mustang!!!!!

The 8.5 rule makes sense to me....and not just because I was running 11s in a class that had a car running a high 7!

As long as there is a category for my car to fit in, they don't bother me a bit. There will always be someone faster than me no matter what ... I just want to have fun with my car.

I like the 8.50 cut off. Not that I would ever get anywhere close to it. haha I think the intent is get the *really* fast cars grouped up for better competition instead of having a single high 7 or 8 flat car dominate each class.

I'll run whatever class I can. I certainly will not be the quickest, but I certainly will have a blast.

Even with me getting booted I like the Class it gives a Entry Heads up Class for guys to come with a every day car. With just bolt ons, I think they should allow fabricated parts in the other Classes.

This kinda rule has always puzzles me. Is there truly an advantage to a bolt part or is it just the person cleaning up there car. It's not like a power adder or 200ci more. Hopefully they come up with something, we have the bug and want to bring more cars next year.

Please go here if you want Dave to look at the rules and the changes you suggest. Reply with the idea of growing the Event and making it better not just the placement of your car. These are the Comments left by me there. Some I am sure will not go over well with some people.

                  1.
I would be in the Modified Class above in the N/A part of it.
by steel body in the Modified Class you only mean quarters and roof and fiberglass front fenders, hood, doors, trunk lid and bumpers are ok??
                  2.
Dave I like the Classes, and see a lot of thought went in. The Street Race is for entry level, basic stock un modified chassis and cars. Should be a great Class!
The only thing I would change is the coil spring cars should be able to relocate shocks but not coils in the Modified Class this is a big advantage over the leaf spring cars. If Wolfe can run 4.40 in the 1/8 mile with springs in the stock location (Mustangs) there is not a good reason they should be allowed to move them, and only stock pick up points no relocation brackets (these would move you to Limited), but allow for fabricated bars in a stock location, that don’t have to be mass produced in every Class but Street Race at least in the rear. It’s just too easy to make replacement bars for double adjustable links, cut tube, thread for a heim, your done let us be Hot Rodders. This will be very hard to police too for you guys.
                  3.
I think there should be a N/A Limited Class having all Cubic inches just like the power adder side for cars like yours to run in. A 10.5 inch wont have the Pro Street Look or Traditional Pro Street—style tires

                  4.
Stock Susp cars with FC Cage You need to look at the Modifed Class rules. There is no 1/2 frame restriction or funny car cage restriction and N/A has a small block and big block class and Power Adder Calss with no 8.50 ET restrictons.

I do think the guy HAULINIT above has a point, Hot Rodding has alway been about fabriction and I think you just booted Jay Browns cool new Mustang into Limited or Unlimited becuase its fabricated front strut. Lots of guys running for years have fabricated Caltracs and rear control arms

                  5.
Non Stock Suspensions 4 links and Ladder Bars would go into the NEW Limited Class, Which should be a N/A and a Power Adder like before when it was called Modified. Street Race should be Rear Suspension bolt on Parts from a Manufacturer to keep it an entry level class, but the other Classes should be allowed to be fabricated at least in the rear.
They limit it to 250 cars, let the slow cars come no need to turn into car snobs, it’s about the fun,,,,,,but get rid of all the Mule Cars and Crews that are showing up the last two or three years we know who you are, must be Clown cars with all the guys that can fit in there!

                  6.
II think the names are confusing people, and there is a lot of “Newer Style Cars” coming and pushing limits. It sounds like a lot of classes but what if Classes where added and names changed to these and rules of the new classes used in those Classes.

"Old Street Race" was the "New Street Race" With the New Street Race Rules

Everything from here down could have Fabricated Rear Susp Parts as long as they are within the rules of the Class.

"New Modified class" was called "Super Street Race" with the rules from the New Modified Class

The "Old Modified" was left as "Modified N/A and P/A " with the Old Rules no Cubic inch limits

Add the New "Limited Class P/A and N/A". new rules no Cubic inch limits

Pro Street and Unlimited Keep their names under any new rules.

My ranger is too slow to worry about - but I'm not sure if I'd fit better in street race or daily driver.... some of the street race chassis modifications that ARE allowed in the street race classs sound pretty significant to me.

                          Wow.

I have ALLOT to learn about chassis. I have considered boxing in a good portion of the ranger rear frame rails when I have the bed off and I'm swapping fuel tank locations.

I'd hate to think the frame boxing we did to Seth's bu - or boxing the notoriously flexible Ranger frame would not put a vehicle into a modified class.....

that there is pretty serious modificating.... start with something old, the frames are skinny!

David said You can Notch, " Thats not a Notch, This is a Notch. I will never forget the first time David rolled under my car. Three times, he rolled out looked up then rolled under and came back out and looked up Rob told him if it was a Notch it should pass, David said "yeah, but you should see this thing. Its like tin foil". By the way the inside rail is in the stock location and curve. just the outer and upper and lower part has been removed. I could put it back to half way very easy an cut the back brace out, and weld some frame back on the front and stay in Street Race. But Where is the fun in that I am waiting for the finished rules to strech the limits in the new Modifed Class next.

Mine is not boxed, the cage takes care of that, and the double frame rail. LOL
