I have the sad distinction of being the guy who showed Jay the oil all over his tire last year...but I also had a sort of wild ride, as I got a bit sideways shifting into second, because of the oil on the track. I ran right after he did, in the same lane.

Your car got "Squirrely?" Did the track personnel miss Jays motor blow up and not check the track? Or did they check it and see nothing?

They figured it out before I did, the guy handing me the time slip asked if the stuff on his finger looked to me like oil. And they cleaned up the track after I ran.

Thanks for re-posting that! I hadn't read it before. We followed along in '13 and remember talking to you while you were at the rest stop between Indy and St. Louis. We were newbies last year and had our share of good (great) luck....Something tells me we might not be so lucky this year...

I have to get registered again this year, just for a chance at a Gear Vendors. That 496 is going to get tired running 3500 all the time.
