I wish I could be there! I really enjoyed the part of Day one I saw in Bowling Green the other year. I wonder if there would be enough spectators who wanted to race to keep the track open for a test and tune after the race was over. I know when I go to the track I itch to make a pass or 10

Gateway posted their schedule of events for Monday. I though the driver's meeting/intro took a bit longer before actual cars hit the track, but then I've never attended the opening day.

Monday, September 14, 2015 Schedule of Events at Gateway 7:30 a.m. - Spectator Gates Open
8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.: Racing begins for all classes other than Street Machine Eliminator
      10:30 - 10:45 a.m.: Track Prep Break and Intermission
      10:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Street Machine Eliminator Runs
      12:15 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Track Prep Break and Intermission
      12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. Open runs for all classes
2 p.m. - Participants hit the road for their next stop and YOU go back to work and claim you had a doctor's appointment. Tell your boss the doc told you to come back on Friday afternoon to get the results of your tests. (Play along with it and you will be able to attend all of the Hot Rod Drag Week events).
      GM G-bodies, because I can't afford a 69 Camaro.
