A few years ago I put a GM CS130 alternator on my 68 Barracuda. Its all wired in, none of the Chrysler wiring is being used other than lights and wipers. I have it wired with a charge light as well.
Occasionally when I first start the car the charge light is on. The charge light will stay on for awhile but its usually gets more dim as time goes on. It doesn't matter if I turn on the fans or anything the light stays on. If its a long drive it will go off but if I drive for just a few minutes and restart the car it will go off and stay off. I replaced the alternator in bowling green the night before drag week 13 because of the issue but it didn't seem to matter.
At one point I thought the battery voltage was a little high(right off the maintainer) and this was causing a issue. I didn't use my battery maintainer for a few weeks and I kept having the issue, it is not every time when its cold but it happens MOST of the time.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Heres a pic if it is of any help lol
