Re: Tubes or not? Screws or not?

So are the holes that are drilled bigger than the screws and it bites into the bead to hold them? Or, are they smaller so as to bite the rim too?

The holes are smaller than the screws. The screws are self tapping... the pionts of the screws stick into the bead about a 1/4"

I think the last two screw kits I bought came with the bit. The holes in the wheel are smaller.

I want to add inner inner tubes in my 28x10-17 Hoosier's and I'm running a 17x9 FR500 replica wheel. From what I've read it's best to use bead screws if running a tube. My question is can you drill any wheel like these alloy FR500's or is there a certain type of wheel you would rather use for bead screws?
