So Auto Meter has a GPS interface module that will run their electic speedo's, has anyone used one of these?? I'm running a 4l80e in my '85 Monte and it does not have a mechanical drive for the speedo on the transmission, so I have to go with an electronic speedometer. Any thoughts??

I've not had any experience with there gps speedo . But I've used the gps speedo on my phone some when I had the trans am and I forgot that I had a electric speedo in the car and bought a T5 that was cable drive. Sometimes I would loose a signal . They make converter boxes that will fix this problem. I know the sbc swap people for jags and s10s , JTR sells them . If you cant find them under JTR then check Stealth conversions which may be there parts company .Previously HoosierL98GTA

TCI sells what you are talking about, it takes a signal from the EZ TCU and sends it to the module and then the module has a mechanical drive that spins the speedo... I already know of that option. The other option is using the VSS on the trans, but that does intake running a bunch of wire and I'm not even sure if the AutoMeter electric speedos work with it. I was just thinking that this GPS module would be an easy install..The Green Machine.

Yeah . My 87 GTA had a 140 . I think those only came in the 350 cars . Or maybe just gta cars . Basially you just need to know what the trans is set up for as far as the reluctor wheel . I think that's what it's called . Factory gage or Aftermarket.Last edited by Dan Barlow; January 17, 2017, 10:05 AM.Previously HoosierL98GTA
