Has anyone tried to convert a 6 volt wiper to 12 volt.. I have a 52 ford truck with the original electric wiper motor tried a resistor which works find till you load the motor then the voltage drops

the resistor is only able to handle smaller loads like gauges... you will need a 12 volt wiper motor as the resistor is not designed to handle the wattage...a power resistor is required for higher loads and is neither efficient or cost effective...Patrick & Tammy

I was just chuckling at my truck, it has wipers with th older style delay.
it would run on and on liike an old subaru, until changing hedalmps to led.
what was happening?
the ground side of the lamps was feeding the backside of the delay gadget.. wouldn't allow it to shut off.
old beetles was other nightmare for this stuff overlapping.

Probably want at least 10 amps capacity, to make sure it will get the motor going. The little 3 amp ones you see for ten bucks probably aren't up to the task. But you could give it a try, it's only ten bucks.

That type needs linkage from a vacuum motor wiper style.. I have a 6v electric motor type linkage have a 12v to6v converter ordered... There clearance problems with most after market wiper motor'sDrag week 2009 Quickest street rod
