Hacked in a relocated fuel filler. The vent line is kinked but I don't think that will matter since the fill tube is so short. Should be a lot easier to fill now.

Looks like we are not going to be able to go to Rocky Mountain Race Week. Just a combination of work, time already taken off, time that will be taken off later in the summer, Jake's intense focus on tennis this summer, etc etc. He's been gone this summer more than he has been home so he's just ready to be home and enjoy the rest of the summer. It stinks, but that's life sometimes.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

It's probably a good thing we didn't take off in Nanner. I drove it a bunch this weekend and after a short run on the interstate, it vapor-locked. I think it is boiling the fuel in the surge tank.
I might change the efi return so that it returns to the main tank instead of the surge tank to see if that fixes it.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

You know how you make up your mind about something and assume it to be true without ever verifying it or really ever questioning it again?
Well, I was driving the truck on the interstate the other day just before it vapor locked and it suddenly clicked. 60mph.... 30" tires.... 3.25 gears.... 2000rpm? Wait, that can't be right. I should be going like 80mph if those are 3.25 gears! What the heck?
I thought back to when we were checking the ratio and I counted the teeth on the ring gear to see what it matched ratio-wise for 9" gear sets. The pinion gear is hard to see down inside a 9 so I didn't bother to try and count them. I mean how often do you buy a random 9" off CL and it have anything other than some nose-bleed tall ratio? A 3.25 gear has 39 teeth, so that's what I determined we had. Well, if you look further down the chart you will see that a 4.33 gear also has 39 teeth on the ring gear. 2000 rpm at 60 in OD with 30" tires makes perfect sense with 4.33's!!!
That explains why this thing was so hard to launch at the track. Peg-leg with deep gears will do that to you.
I'm so glad I didn't buy those 373's a while back!!
Trust nothing, verify everything!!! HahaLast edited by BBR; July 14, 2017, 07:14 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Haha actually I have not installed it! Just got lucky that time. I sent that pic to Jake and he replied 'When did you put the spool in?!?"Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I was messing around the shop last night and decided to see if a 15" wheel would fit on my truck. It has been widely reported that 15" wheels will not fit over the CV brakes, but I have never seen pics of anyone attempting it. The test wheel was a front wheel off my Mustang. It is a 15x4 Jegs/Summit aluminum wheel with a 165/80-15 tire. No, I won't drive with these on there, but I did want to see for myself where the interference might be with a 15" wheel.
This particular wheel needed a 1/4" spacer because the inside of the wheel hit the outside of the caliper bracket and prevented the wheel from sitting flush on the hub. The caliper is close to the inside of the rim, but there is enough room that the stick-on wheel weights do not hit.
This is a skinny wheel, but it looks like there is plenty of room for wider wheel options like a 15x7 with the proper backspace.
Random pics.
