  • Car trailer rehab

Decided my crappy old trailer needed to look better, hauling my Chevy II to Tulsa behind my 57 Suburban. So, I took it partly apart, and spend this morning sandblasting, and this afternoon painting. I still need to work on the wood, and the winch, and the wiring, and do the brake/bearing inspection.

I'd paint my trailer, but then people would want to borrow it. Now they ask, look at the trailer, and say "it's only $50 to rent a trailer at Uhaul?"

Just too cool, I can see why you wanted to paint the trailer.

That's a chore in my not-too-distant future. Thanks for the inspiration. Mine's looking pretty shabby though it's in good shape.

I got my winch, and a few new tires, from guys who borrowed my trailer. I guess it depends on the friends you keep

I welded up a boat trailer from the 70s, had stickers from here to midwest...and the ocean.

I assumed it has seen many nasty things. The slow welds for structure regain took a couple of days.

Every trailer has its focus to fail, only looking like one bigger strong object.

                        nice paint.

                        they can go forever.
