  • Any Silver State Classic/Nevada Open Road Challenge guys here?

I'm into all sorts of racing so when presented with the opportunity, I jumped at it. I've run the 110 and 125 classes so far with the 140 coming up in May.

    Any other Open Roaders here?

Here she is in trim for the 125 class. For the 140, I've got a set of stiffer T-bars and 2" drop spindles for the front, 1" drop hangers for the rear and an airdam to help get the air out from under the car. I just need to find a GOOD set of front shocks.

If you look in the lower right corner of the windshield at about 0:18 on you'll see a small white spot. That's the guy who took the second video.

Here is one I took (I wasn't happy with the over all quality on the videos so I hadn't posted any up from the last event)

You know, I hadn't thought about it, but that might be an awesome venue to run the Escort at given all of it's handling goodies. How slow do the classes go?

95mph average speed is the slowest bracket.

                    I've seen mid-90's Saturn's, Hyundai's, etc. run.

Randal - after Bonneville (assuming the stars align and I get there) can you give me a tour of Ely? We can skip the House of Ill Repute but it looks like an interesting old town. We'll talk (have your people call my people, etc. etc.).

                          Awesome! What race is that?

My dad has had so much funin my car that her's now building his own. He bought a '95 Firebird Formula and we're in the procedd og wedging a 427 Chevy in it. The engine is one of his old drag boat engines and were changing a few things around for endurance. We've got 2 NASCAR M22's to chose from (different ratios) and were having a 9" full floater built for the rear.

This was at the first Mojave Mile . It was the first ever event and shakedown for the YELLA BRICK so we had a couple of 'new car' issues to sort through. Overall the car handled extremely well. There was a pretty stiff crosswind at the top end that was moving more advanced designed machinery around where the BRICK was flat glued down and I didn't feel a thing. My 3rd and last run was a 137.5 but I'd missed the 1-2 shift. Embarrassing to say the least : Could've been a strong 145 pass. Monies are real tight for us and it's a good $2500+ weekend when we take it out. Hoping to make at least one ORR event this coming season.
I really like those 1st gen Chargers !! Looks GREAT !!

Awesome! Thanks for all the pics and video. Man, seeing a fastback Charger hauling a$$ is totally bitchin'. I love the fact that this car is multipurpose and pushed hard. 8)

DrivingMissDD, as usual I'm glad to see your badass Cordoba! ;D

I wish we had some ORR action in the North East. Well, Canada is mostly empty space anyways, maybe I should start something :P
