Once you pay to get in you can walk through the pits. No extra pit pass needed. Most racers are very open to spectators. Sometimes I like to walk through the prestage line and talk to old friends and meet new ones.

Just don't drive through the pits or park in the fire lane. You will have a great time!

Glad you made it! And was that about as laid back as any car event you've ever been to? Great to meet the kiddo - still young enough for her ol' man not to be a total idiot!

Hope to see you back there.

Yep, that was laid back but they don't like spectators on the starting line, OOPS! Daughter even had fun. That was a special weekend for us both, hope it's not the last. I'll be back as long as circumstances allow it.

I was contrasting that event to drag racing in perspective of barriers between track and spectators as well as variety of entries. I've only been to one NHRA event that I recall but attended several sanctioned events at the local track. NHRA makes spectators pay dearly for pit access but the local track can't help but let spectators wonder the pits or mingle in the staging lanes.

Loved the diversity of the entrants too. That one still has me shaking my head in amazement of the various combinations. That looked to me to truly be a "use what you have" sport. And my list of things to do is growing.....
