The L88 is ugly at worst, boring at best, and usually comes off as a trailer park add on that only serves to break up the lines of an otherwise decent looking vehicle.
Let's see
1) ugly
2) the front lip captures water
3) ugly
4) they don't let air in the back of them - that's an aftermarket idea
5) ugly
6) that front edge, even if you cut a hole to reduce the mosquito breeding in it, that puts the 'vent' area in front of the radiator - not a good idea if you prefer your car not to imitate a nuclear meltdown.
other than those reasons, they're ugly, even on a Corvette.

always liked the L88 hoods on the Motion Phase III camaros and vettes or the Greenwood Vettes... but some things should just stay in their era... like the NACA Duct...

Here's a couple I think look good with it. Was trying decide between the L88 and a cowl style for my own ride. Eventually went with the cowl as it was cheaper for me but would have been happy with either one.
