  • Your contract with a Demon

Looks like FCA is rolling out there waiver forms for buying a Dodge Demon.

Jalopnik has copies of the paperworkhere.

And this guy claims the Demon has no business on the street. Some good commentary but plenty to disagree with as well.

      it should raise standards.
going more auto trans and aluminum engines is painful enough.

I'd love to see the poster midget of the automotive standard.

is it an asian woman? maybe.

Actually, the car isn't dangerous, people with the I.Q. of a door knob are dangerous. And I'm sure a few of them are scraping up the coin to go buy one.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

I understand what you are saying ... but, that car is dangerous. It's limits far exceed the capabilities of most drivers and even an experienced driver could find himself in trouble very quickly.

The day I took a ride ( not drive ) in a 500and about 20 horse car and the ride lasted 2 tenths of a mile , ending badly backward uptwo trees with the tail of the car about 6 feet off the ground, I was about to go all socialist and say nobody has any business with more than 400 horses on a public street . Unfortunately someone probably has a simular story in a 400 horse car and then someone would have one for a 300 horse car . Then I'd have a outlawed car and truck . I like the idea that maybe shutting down all but 400 horses without a satellite link that can tell upur on a legit track or at least off the pubics roads .

you could say the same thing about my 2005 170,000 mile GTO. With a mild build it has 400 rwhp and can very easily end up sideways. The 'door knobs" are the problem

So if we are going to blame cars for their poor behavior - then how are we to treat guns?

I believe an inanimate object can be inherently dangerous without receiving the blame for what the idiot using it does.

Most performance cars built in the last 8 or so years exceed most drivers abilities...

Having said that I see people driving econobox's that should not even have a license. It is way too easy to get a drivers license. The car is not the problem, people are the problem.

Agreed....... way to many idiots on cell phone and TRYING to drive at the same time, way to many idiots who don't know how to MERGE onto the interstate, way to many idiots who drive in the LEFT lane. Everyone should be retested for a drives license every 5 yrs.....written and driving test. And way to many illegals driving without insurance and or drivers license.

I so think this is a "it depends" deal. You know, when loaded, what a gun will do when you pull the trigger - and you own the result. But look at the Ford Mustang or even the Pontiac (Holden) GTO - they both had horsepower far in excess of what their computers can handle. Thus it depends, if Fiat spent quality time tuning so that my mom could hop in the car and pop down to the store for a gallon of milk; then great. On the other hand, if like the Mustang, it wasn't well validated then Fiat is going to get their comeuppance in the form of a series of huge-dollar, lost lawsuits. It's great they have a waiver, but that doesn't protect them from 3rd parties.... then the waiver is just exhibit A of a lawsuit where a company put profits before consumer safety.

Are you sure about that - and it applies to 100% of the population?

I don't need the government protecting me from myself.

Look at the performance of superbikes. Riding my old Harleys for years and getting on a ZX9 is clearly a completely different animal. I would like to think that I learned quickly that the bike exceeded my level of talent, and I had to ride within my level of talent.

I see lots of younger guys buying these crotch rockets that have no business riding them. Some wad them up, most don't. Drive or ride within your abilities.

I think it is awesome FCA is building this car, and I hope others follow suite, but I doubt it.

They say they are only producing 3,000 of them. I don't see how that will be worth the development, unless that is only for 2018.
