Is anyone else having trouble sending .odt files written in Open Office via Live Mail?
In the last 2 weeks, if I attach these files to my emails - some of them are deleted after sent, and some open in hypertext (correct vernacular?).
It doesn't happen all the time, either - and no Acrobat, .jpeg, or pictures files are affected.

This is really messing me up, as I edit 2 different newsletters for 2 different car clubs and my members have complained about missing files.
    Any help?

if you are sending out newsletters, yeah, save them as a .pdf

I would expect problems with sending an Open Office file over a Microsoft mail service but then, I'm a computer pessimist

Saved as an .rtf file - looks good, sent it - deleted. Shows the "broken" symbol.

And apparently I do not have a method to save as a .pdf file... which is unfortunate. I can read a .pdf file.....

They don't like us to send access files at work, so we rename the file by removing the "." Email then the receiver renames the file with the "." Everyone is happy

OK, sir - I figured out how to export my odt files as a pdf file....
They read great, but my email is STILL deleting them when I send them.

So this is a Windows Live problem?

may be antivirus. We used to have to password protect zip files to send certain types of files to each other at work. The AV kept deleting attachments.

You password protect a zip file so the AV can't open it and see what's in there. A standard zip file it can open and read... might be worth a try.

Nice try. I have a GMail account, and it screws up on there, too.

Don't know much about zipfiles, but wouldn't everyone I send a file to have to have the password?
