I was wondering if it does actually flip it off or possibly " weld some of that rusty impurity into the metal . It sure looks fantastic though .

I had similar thoughts. Rust is a protector on the thicker steels, around a hard .125 and thicker.
Electric makes it lose...and gain.
I have changed density of metal to electric, because I am a genius.

My local machines gain fat brake lines up front. The subaru is backwards, gains fat steel lines in the back.

I have no clue why that is not common sense to more people.
the earth is more than 90% iron.
should we paint it with rustoleum before the ocean makes it rust?

removing rust to me is for adding work. machinists measures or welding etc etc.
painting today even likes some of that rough surface to do its job.

never overthink it.
