How much money was offered? In my case it wouldn't have mattered - I was taking this one! And glad I did.

I couldn't afford a pack of matches back then, pawn shop wedding ring & justice of the peace.

My first try at building a hot rod, never got it done, traded it off for some other car, this was in about 1959.

Sophomore in HS and the 73 Coupe de Ville I drove. My sister all but destroyed this car in a full blown Dukes impression. We were lucky we weren't killed in that stunt.

That looks like a great start! I often wonder how I let some of my goodies (like my '64 GTO that I'm pretty sure was a Royal Bobcat) slip thru my fingers but women were involved in most of them. I guess you do the best you can at the time and you just have to let the dream go.

My very first car; an early '80s (82?) Ford Taunus.
First pic was taken in the dunes near the coastal town called "Scheveningen", somewhere late '90s I think.

My 2nd car, and first American car; '78 Pontiac Bonneville.

It's been said that that's me with the car. If so I haven't aged a bit IMO...

Last pic also shows my 3rd car.
A '64 Chrysler Newport, which had been 'stretched' here in the Netherlands in the '70s and then sold to a car rental company specialised in wedding cars.

In that pic you look like an '80's rock star! Interesting to see stuff from "over there". When you coming this way? We have a guest room and (as I often say) we're not afraid to use it.

                    It is on the curb.

I just remembered that I have these though they're not my car - it's my buddy Don's and we were off from Milford MI to California for our alternative to the Senior Trip. It's a '58 and the year was '65.

I'm the not tall one. We had a blast! Damn, we were young.

I remember madras shirts and shorts (for the "frats") but I can honestly say I never saw a hat made of it.

Don found those somewhere. I'm not really a hat guy but he thought we should have them.

Me with the Firebird in the original Formula paint scheme around 1985.

In 1992 just got my center line auto drags for the (now red) firebird.

Love that Grand Prix. My dad had a silver one like that. They're just great looking cars.
