Seen one station at 1.79 yesterday here. It's all fine and dandy, until you start counting the oil and gas industry employees drawing unemployment. As I was until 2 weeks ago.

Here in Nebraska, gas prices are strange compared to California. Cali are expensive, but the prices go up $.10 per grade pretty much across the state. Here, 87 ethanol blend is dirt cheap, $2.35, but non-ethanol 87 is $2.65 and non-ethanol 91 is $2.95. I will still take it over Cali's $4.00 for 91 summer crap blend any day.

I just got back from a long drive...and it varies widely. Where I live, the "good" stations get about 25-30 cents more for 91 than 87, while others are 50 cents or more. In the midwest, I saw a very large range of prices for 93 octane. Kinda have to use gas buddy when you're on the road, looking for premium!
