BangShift.com is a free, blog-based magazine for car guys, hot rodders, and gearheads of all kinds. The site focuses on American performance hot rods, musclecars, and drag racing, and is also big on hot rodding history. We dip our toes in the worlds of street trucks, Jeeps, 4x4s, Stock Cars, and other forms of racing when we find outrageous stuff that would be cool for any car junkie to read about. Our regular blog items include news, new speed products, car show coverage, videos, tech stories, car features, and historic stuff that every motorhead should know.

Alright, i know I'm the youngest one on the forum and I'm probably the only one thats in the import or stance scene. Something thats starting to get popular in the scene is plasti-dipping parts or accent pieces and sometimes the wheels. I was just curious if any one here had any experience on how well it holds up on something that gets as warm as a wheel? I've got the stuff to powder coat but i just dont have the things setup nor the time to set it up.

NOTE: This is how bored I am waiting to go autocrossing tomorrow...

I went out on the back porch and there's a whole bunch of Mexican-sounding folks on the other street, behind our house, having a great time. They're laughing and having a great time and they've got the boom box going. They're living up. And not bothering a soul. You'd have to be on our back porch to hear them, about a hundred yards away. All is well.

And I got the brilliant idea - I can make more noise than that. So I went upstairs and opened the window in the band room. I fired up the Line 6 amp, 50 watts RMS. I'd never turned it wide open before, never.

I had earplugs. I plugged in the Erlewine and commenced into raising all matter of hell, slide and licks and whatever, and I proved to myself that I really honestly don't remember how to play. But I sure raised hell.

That amp....the floor was shaking on the low notes, it was screaming on the high notes. I had it turned up wide-ass open (remember I had earplugs). I'd never ever had that amp wide open before, and that pseudio performance lasted about two minutes and I was done.

Meanwhile, poor Ken the Cat (remember Ken?) was flipping out downstairs trying to find somewhere to hide form the noise, according to Unit.

My bad. Poor cat.

Finally, I have something nearly on-topic.

What was that line from the movie Gran Prix, something like, "For those of us who do it, racing is living. Everything else is just waiting."

I'm waiting. BSing my way along on BangShift because that's fun too.

Red's ready. I'm ready. We're waiting to run through cones tomorrow. Here's the course:

Attachment 21472
It goes clockwise.

This is going to be a test of the driver. I KNOW Red's set up to do it. And I'm sitting here thinking I'll blow everybody's doors off because....I know Red can do it. My confidence comes from ignorance. There's folks there in really hot cars who have a whole lot of experience at it, and I've gone none whatsoever.

We'll see. The thing is, tomorrow I'm actually going to go out and do something. With the car. And get video and still shots of it.

Film at eleven.

I've been on the verge of having the T/A on the road for weeks. Even drove it around the block once. (4 miles ) But before putting it back in the fleet I want a working temp gage. Well the factory one won't work so, I decided to put a old Autometer Ultralite gage in it. Well that hole in the trans tunnel that I did such a great job of welding upp with a big washer last week I now needed to enlarge the hole to almost an inch.Bored a hole back in it to run the sender through. Yeah now for some reason when I tighten the nut down the nut, you can push and pull the sender back and forth . Lets water out like crazy.Thing was a bear since it is on the air conditioner side. So then I think, no big deal I'll just use the the other head where it is more towards the front. That sender hole isn't being used for anything so it has a plug in it . I go to tap a 3/8 inch extension into it. Won't fit.I't just a little to big. So then I go to Sears to find a socket with a square end. Hey , I figure it there are allen and torxs ends then there must be square ones. None there. Go across the street to Harbor Freight none. About to leave, rain starts pouring. What a waste of a day. Good thing I don't have money....I'd through in the towel and by a 2010 Camaro SS.
