I have a 360/904 torque converter.we always saved these at the yard as they broke off the ears.

NOT sure if lock up or not as it HAS NO paper tag if it is how do i tell? I did stick a screwdriver down to feel sides and the end at the bottom seemed to have a bit of room past the splines(if i make ANY fuggin sense at all)

Wags , I can only ask. I know the lockup torque converter has about 3/4 " of smoothe area on the end of the input shaft . Where as the non-lockups don't . Do you have any,,,,,,, idea what year car/van it may've come out of ?

Count the splines on the large shaft . Lockups have 26 splines .

i will try to count today i know it does have the flex plate and now that i think of it i have a spare 360 for the wrecker sitting in the garage and it has a converter on it also and it does not seem that large.i belive it is out of an older vehicle.

That parts carb also had LARGER primary bores just so ya know.

Another thing , I'm told that the non-lockup tranny has no drain plug on the of the torque converter
