A question that LS1 ZR2 may have some insight but all are welcome to comment.
Up until about 3 months ago, for the last two years, there have been many flattering articles about the new Zeta chassis and GM adopting it for everything including the Camaro, Impala, G8, car-based truck........ to the STS/DTS replacement. It currently underpins the Pontiac G8, Australia's Commadore and the soon to be released Camaro.
As recently as today, I am reading about the General backing away from it (DTS to be on Epsillon II - FWD). WTF is going on over there? While I can understand slowing down deployments due to the current financial problems, is there some significant defect they have now found or is it turning out to be way more expensive to produce, or what???
