I wouldn't be so sure. most of those companies' finance departments have been able to use black ink the past 20 years.Originally posted by SpiderGearsManI am sure the japanese taxpayer is propping up nissan , subaru , mitsubishiwww.realtuners.com - catch the RealTuners Radio Podcast on Youtube, Facebook, iTunes, and anywhere else podcasts are distributed!Comment

Re: GM,Titanic of the 21'st century.
I don't see Toyota or BMW asking for handouts. A slightly down market isn't making them consider bankruptcy, and there's no cashflow shortage. And no multi billion dollar losses for years on end either.Originally posted by SpiderGearsMannot now
Sorry bro, I just can't see how we can blame the "Japanese" (wrong race, FYI) for GM's troubles. in fact I can't see blaming anyone else but Japan, and the people who buy cars they cannot afford.
I hate to be the realist here, but I also believe the "bailout money' was a total waste of time. It's absolute BS to say that losing GM would cause "unbelievable catastrophic economic woes" when the reality is, there's *maybe* 150,000 people whose jobs would be directly affected by them going under.
As a country, we laid off more than that in the last week.www.realtuners.com - catch the RealTuners Radio Podcast on Youtube, Facebook, iTunes, and anywhere else podcasts are distributed!Comment

Re: GM,Titanic of the 21'st century.
Feb 27 - Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it revised its
outlook on German automotive manufacturer BMW AG (BMWG.DE) to negative from
stable, and affirmed the 'A/A-1' long- and short-term corporate credit ratings
on the group. The group has not yet reported its full set of results for 2008, but in
consideration of the difficult automobile and financial market conditions in
2008, Standard & Poor's anticipates that the group's financial measures will
have weakened during the course of the year with respect to the end of 2007. "The negative outlook reflects our anticipation that continued tough
market conditions in the automotive sector in 2009 might lead to a weakening
of the group's profitability and cash generation beyond what can be sustained
by its existing financial risk profile, and that this might result in a
weakening of the company's debt-protection measures," said Standard & Poor's
credit analyst Barbara Castellano.Comment

And BMW's "profits" went down this year. how long has it been since the General had a quarter in the black?!?!?
Keep on blaming the media, the current administration, whatever - if it helps. Facts are a bitch for sure.www.realtuners.com - catch the RealTuners Radio Podcast on Youtube, Facebook, iTunes, and anywhere else podcasts are distributed!Comment
