I do see a bit of an issue with the black smoke at the line however - especially if the winds are behind you....

I've loved 8V Detroits since I was a little kid. There used to be a local oil company that ran past my house a few times a day. They ran mid-70's Kenworth W900 tankers that had 8V71's. Every time one of them would drive past, I'd stop what ever I was doing and listen to them run up through the gears.
Just groovin' to my own tune.Comment

My family had a heavy truck shop in west texas in the 80's.We used to build hotrod over the road trucks for some of the guys hauling pipe crosscountry. My favorite one was a silver "92" series that was blown and turbocharged. We over drove the blower ,added a larger turbo ,changed pistons and injectors ,degreed the cam and changed the back half of the 13 speed to have a set of od+ gears.this was in a cabover international.I roadtested it and got it over 100mph bobtailing very quickly. That was damn scary. The owner came back a couple of months later for the overhead adjustment and told us that he had outran a hiway patrol in new mexico with a full load of pipe. That truck was capable of 120+ loaded.Hows that for nuts?BTW I was 16 and building these for people and roadtesting them.Comment

A friend of mine had an cabover pete, with a silver 92 that was built by Penske racing. You could always pick out Daves
Pete, it had to 2 intake stacks on one side, and 2 exhaust stacks on the other. That truck did great Burnouts and would run over a 100 loaded dont ask how I know. ;DReading , Pa
