Aways loved that sound 8)
I've lived on a hill my whole life ,not real high, about 740 ft elev with about 3-4 miles of approach
I remember those old gravel and logging truck's engines screaming to get their load up that hill
You could hear them for a real long time
The old gas engine ones with the 366 and 427 sounded cool too after most of their exhaust had rotted off
Some of my neighbors didn't think so - Same types who don't like the jake brake sound going down the hill now

Fun to see/hear. They're even better under load. The biggest one we ever ran was an 8 cylinder due to dyno constraints - the torque curve of the dyno has to be over the torque curve of the engine and DC dynos DO have a torque curve (flux-vectored ACs absorb nearly full power from a couple of RPM on up). What application was that for? It seems to have gear drives both front and rear and I never messed with a Detroit with a rear air compressor.
