Want to see what you guys think. I love the old gasser look, but vintage cars to make them out of are expensive. Plenty of Willys pickups and Thames panel trucks were made into gassers, so what do you think about an S10 pickup or Blazer gasser? Obviously a straight axle, fenderwell headers, the whole deal. One of the magazines recently had drawings of car ideas, they had a Fox Mustang gasser, it looked goofy in my opinion. The S10's full frame seems like it would lend itself to a fairly easy conversion. So whats your opinion?

Steve "Magneto" Magnante built an altered wheelbase, straight axled Ford Fairmont. I thought it was a huge waste of time and effort.Originally posted by oldrustycarsWant to see what you guys think. Joe's right. Build your car your way, to please you and no one else. Who cares if no one else likes it as long as you have fun building it and driving it.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

In the 60's, Doug Nash raced a Bronco that looked really good. Kinda early Funny Car like. Find pics of that, and see if a local artist can render up something like it based on the BlazerOriginally posted by oldrustycarsWant to see what you guys think. I think it would be cool. Go for it. Thought about doing it to the '89 F150 I had... plus an LS based engine. Weird, huh?Bakersfield, CA.Comment

Re: An idea, cool or stupid?
I know it sound crazy, but I was thinking about this the other day, when driving past a older used car lot, too. They had a couple old Rangers, some older Dodge vans, and even a crappy looking Miata.
The thought crossed my mind about the Miata, using a hard-top kit.
Not some gay-assed "wanna-be-everything" car. But a REAL drag car. Straight axle, Big tires, radiused wheel-wells, injected SBC, raised up about 8-10" front and rear......
Something that carries the theme of the old Opel gasser/Funny cars.
I think the idea came from the Chevelle someone posted a couple weeks ago.......Comment
