i'm wondering the basis behind your decision. Who's driven one, who hasn't. C5 Only, if you've driven or owned a c6 z06 you are a god and there is no need to make mention of it in this post.
I'm just interested to see the correlation.

test drive one, from best chevy ;D
rt 3 over to the split.. then back..
nice..
they need to drop the zr1 ls engine in a g8
and call it chieftin(sp?)
before g.m. pulls the plug..

This is the reason I have my C4 Isold a 70 ss chevelle to get the vette. Ive driven both c5 and c6 zo6's and the cannot be compared. 96 Lt4 corvettes are the buy right now 330 hp 6speed for less than 15 grand . The LT4 is a stout engine. they are fast and dead nuts reliable

I have driven a C5 (non ZO6). The car was fun. Six speed. Just taking on ramps and blasting down the freeway was cool. Only thing I didn't really like is that you can't really get up on the wheel. I tend to lean forward when driving hard and the Vette is not condusive to that.

even with the electric wheel telescoped foreward? I was able to get pretty far up on it.... maybe yours didn't have that option.

I have a C5 non-Z06 and voted for the Z06 as I do want to get one. For the price they are a LOT of car, and work for me. Of course I already have a few under $25G muscle cars... so that's why...
