Video like this is like porno for me. The sounds of over cammed engines idling, guys who knew how to bang gears on a 4 speed.....thats better than an AC/DC album to me. If NHRA brough back racing like this they could eliminate the Pro classes altogether.
And dig the state of the art tow rig at 6:50 or so...

Good stuff from a great era for sure. It was a LOT more fun to watch those cars run than the stuff today. Granted, the stuff today's a lot quicker. But, essentially, uneventful and boring to watch. Lots of body motion in those early cars. And Funny Cars looked like their street counterparts

I agree. I don't go out of my way to watch drag racing anymore. We bitch and moan about NASCAR, but I'm not sure that big time drag racing is any different these days. Local tracks may be different. I don't mean to insult anybody here that certainly was not my intention. It is just that when I watched this video, it reminded me of what I liked about the the national drag race scene when I was a kid.

I really liked this video. Loved the sound and watching those guy row the gears was great!
