With all you guys in the US saying how much your looking forward to summer I'm looking forward to winter!

There's a few bush fires burning around the place, most probably deliberately lit >.

If Blackout S gets on here I'm sure he'll tell you what a crap day it's been.

It is the hottest day ever recorded in the history of Melbourne.

One part of the state has had fourteen days in a row over 105 deg!

That ain't nothing, a couple of summers ago we had 40+ days in the summer time with temps over 110*. And every once and awhile we'll get a couple of days of 120+ degree days. But hey it's a dry heat. ;) ;D

it was around 38 here today...got a foot of snow on the ground and its starting to melt.
i like to see little warm ups around here cause our little streams can't handle a full onslaut..
i'm going to floridia next week so i guess my spring comes early for me.

I was watching the quarter or semi-finals of the Australian Open on tv a week or so ago, and they had a thermometer on the courts... It got up to, or just over, 60 degrees C, or 142 degrees F... and those guys were playing championship tennis for hours at a time!
Andy Roddick won that round because his opponent couldn't take the heat.

I think it's in the mid 40's It's 39 here in central FL this morning. Yesterday mornng was 31, the morning before that it was 27. Froze the water in my fountain out front and my water hose. That's 5 freezing nights so far this year for us.

46.4C / 115.52F. That's pretty hot for a city as far South as Melbourne..
Broken Hill in NSW was supposed to be the hottest place on Earth today. For all you Mad Max2 fans, that's where the film was shot.

I worked this morning but was heated off at 35C / 95F at 10am.
I have evap (swamp) cooling installed here at home, so the whole house has been very comfortable. Made another batch of vanilla ice cream to help me deal with it too. :D

Damn, I'm out of Reece's choc-peanut topping. :'(

Here is the picture as it is on the wall at home.
A good mate did it for me after the car was used in his wedding. That's his style of painting everything, buildings, boats, cars, whatever.
In the avatar it looks like a narrowed 65 ;D

I was in a crawl space at work repairing a steam condensate float and motor. It was 115* there with the steam.

They say it's going to be about 75deg today.
Lots of bushfires still burning.
25 now confirmed dead and expecting the number to go above 40. :'(
