    Waterbeds

I slept on one for many years, until the wife decided we were adults, and should sleep on a mattress. So for 14 years I havent had a good nights sleep. Just shelled out $2200 for a good set, still no good. I put a $100 waterbed in my sons old room, I'm sleeping like a baby. So all the experts who tell me my 50 year old 280 pound body should not sleep on a waterbed can go take a flying leap.

after I broke my back it was the only bed in the house that I was comfortable sleeping in... Tonya hates it... but I've had one for over 25 yrs...

I've slept on one for the past 13 years.....no way I'd go back to a conventional mattress.

Bought a 70% waveless waterbed in 1987. Travelled for a living for 15 years or more and slept in allot of beds. NUTHIN' beats my waterbed. I also have two bad discs in my back and that bed never hurts me. Of Course... I drive a 77 Ventura with a Disco Ball on the dash and wear platform shoes too...............

Mine is a full motion, bag of water. I sleep with the window open, even below zero. The warmth of the bed makes the perfect combo. Hard to get out of it in the morning, though.

              damnit!

I just *knew* the $1200 mattress was BS. And I tossed a perfectly good waterbed (which was more comfortable than the crap from Sit & Sleep)

My parents just got those Tempur-Pedic mattresses and I have to say they are pretty nice, feels like your sleeping on air. My mom has bad hips and sleeping on a regular mattress was painful for her, and the Tempur-Pedic was the only one that she could sleep on that didn't hurt her hips.

Tempur-pedics are hard to beat.... for me it was the slosh that would need to be excised that got me out of the waterbed life....

I stayed in a hotel recently with the "sleep number" beds. Those are the ones where each side has a controller to pump it up or deflate it.

I'm easily amused so I pumped one side all the way up and flattened the other. There must have been like 6 inches of difference side to side! I hated the thing and could never find a good setting for me.

Best place to sleep = cab of a pickup at the race track. ;)

Lemme guess-- you also were "racing" the sides.

Car guys will race anything. ls7gto races his garage doors. ;D

Theres still one store near me that sells waterbeds. The most basic one was $500. Too rich for my blood, since I didn't know if I'd still like one. Many many on Craigslist. be sure to search both "waterbed" and "water bed". I found mine on a rural radio station Tradin Post call in show. $100 with a nice bookcase headboard, and 8 drawer pedestal. Bough a new mattress, liner, pad and sheets from the same vendor on evilBay for under $100. I'll find the sellers name if you'd like, they just sell waterbed stuff. PM me.
