Question for Chad (24 Hours of Lemons)

I loved the videos from CJTV on racing the 24 Hours of Lemons and I have a team signed up for the race at Carolina Motorsports Park in April. We're racing a '91 Honda Civic (couldn't find any American iron for under $500) and about to buy some steel wheels for it. My question is how much tire wear did most teams see when you did the race? Will we need to plan to replace the front wheels between Saturday and Sunday? Will we need to replace all four?

I know it's hard to compare a Civic to the monster you raced, but advice you can provide will be great. Thanks. ;D

You need to start with 8 good tires and wheels.... especially if I drive... ( which I won't, it's a Maxton weekend)

We started with 8, but I'm not sure you'll need them all. On the Fury we only changed the front once. We only ran like 8 hours, but our car weighed twice as much as a Honda. We also stopped killing tires after we fixed the alignment.

(Well, and after getting Matt out of the car. LOL)
