I really hate to see stuff like this, to people that don't know the sport, it makes us look like a bunch of criminals, and there are way to many of these stories cropping up http://video.msn.com/?mkt=en-au&bran...inline&fg=news

Sounds like the DeLorean case all over again. Auto guy gets in financial trouble; tries to find a quick money solution; gets busted.

Guys, Brett Stevens is a BIG (like John Force type big) name in Australian drag racing. He fielded a big team with sponsorship from Jack Daniels for many years but recently announced that he'd be retiring. Maybe he knew this was coming. Wow. Really shitty that he's gotten himself into that mess. I feel bad for all the kids that looked up to him.

Yep, at the point he "retired",I believe he had the largest drag race team on the planet, he himself ran 3 pro classes at most events, the Aussie equivalent of pro mod(tin tops, i think they call'm?), alcohol funny car, and top bike(nitro H-D), plus his teammates, burnout cars, and a blown chevy v6 powred "burnout" bike, what a shame, but I'm glad he cant spread that crap out to people anymore.Comment

Wasn't DeLorean completely absolved of any wrongdoing because the Feds got busted *planning* how to convince him to make a drug deal??Originally posted by StoneshrinkSounds like the DeLorean case all over again. DeLorean was acquitted due to entrapment, but as Mr-fo' speed says, the damage was done.
This is a very different deal altogether, though the motivation may have been the same (money).
