I finally got a new work truck. It is an Imperial Blue Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 4X4. It has the 5.3 motor and drives like a dream. I am loving it.

Just thought I would share.

BTW....I already scratched up the bed with the new race car engine ;D

I myself have never owned, and never will own, a new pickup. My 93 was mint when I bought it in 2001, I scratched it up the first day throwing an engine stand over the bed side. Was bound to happen sooner or later, but I hadn't even washed it yet.

My trucks first scratch was the fron air dam comming off as I went though a muddy (and very soft) farm field outside of Coldwater MI. with like 1000 miles. Oilfield trucks live rough life.

Nice! I'm waiting for my work truck. My boss ordered an extended E250 van for me. Power windows, door locks, AC, CD player, bins and an alarm system. Presently I'm driving an 05 Dodge 2500 4WD Hemi, man does that suck gas but sure does run reeeal nice ;D

Yep.....Didn't cost me a penny ;) 5000 in incentives....taken off of the invoice price. ;D

It will be getting a 2 chamber muffler next week.....I need to be able to hear it. 8)

The only work trucks I've have been at least 6 wheelers, and mostly 10. Dump trucks are way fun!

This truck did its first burnout with only 10 miles on the odometer....I love it.

The last truck we really worked on the farm was a '94 Dodge ram 1/2 ton with the 318 and 4-speed automatic. A cow got mad and headbutted the driver side tail light to smithereens, the driver side rear running board was torn off by a rock, the passenger side rear running board was torn off trying to take a shortcut through a mud patch, the hood was crunched in by a hay bale (which was loaded on the tractor that ran into the truck), the transmission was ripped apart from pulling a 16' trailer full of hamburger-in-waiting on a weekly basis, and the sheetmetal on the entire rear half of the truck was shredded from all the tractor parts, rocks, and everything else that rode in the back. Heck, that truck was even set on fire once--I pulled into a freshly harvested field about four months after we bought the truck. The chaff from the combine bunched up between the catalytic converter and a heat shield meant to keep the cat from setting stuff on fire. Got three steps away from the truck, smelled something funny, and turned around to see flames leaping from the underside. I don't think that truck had a single salvageable body part left by the time we traded it in-roof included.
