They've already planned tracks and dates and are working on the route. I'll let you know when it's contracted and official. IMO they are late announcing it again so I'll need your help spreading the word!

Hurry up and get the tracks and dates published, at least, the route can be done later ::) I am sure that between this board and Hot Rods and the crazy Chrysler guys the word will spread quickly. Please do not make same mistake as last year when it was announced in the magazine that registration was open on the web, but actually wasn't up and running for at least a month ??? I think some of the guys that were 'impulse'' registers were lost.
David my offer of doing anything behind the scenes still stands. I imagine you are going to be very busy when you get back, let me know how I can help and also their are several others on the board who have also volunteered.

I see lots of full page advertising in hot rod for the power tour and the late model DRAGS but not a peep about drag week other than the coverage of the 2008 event.
We all need the dates so we can start scheduling our time off of our precious sacred jobs.
Cant wait to hear the plan for 2009!!!

Yeah I am not ready yet, storing parts for a thrash in the spring. Wait till your kids hit 13, all sports all the time then they HAVE to go to all the High School games too. Plus I am going to add a little more power :o, but will leave the motor in it till its sorted a bit, then change heads and intake,,,,, and cam,,,,,, and pistons,,,,and ,,,and. ::)

I finished installing my 40lb flywheel, new clutch, polished the car and it's ready to go. I'll probably be taking the Camaro instead of the Nova because it still needs a lot of work. Dragweek was not the same without you there. I'm glad you'll be back.

We are sure as hell hoping to be there this year. As usual it will come down to the last minute thrash.

Dave, can we assume you will not be Competition Director at Engine Masters this year after all?

That would be true if you were stationary, but you increase your frontal area to wind drag, and *that* slows you down.

I'm hoping to be on Seth's crew for some of this mahem - since it's so close - I really hope I can make it - at least for the first weekend.
I haven't run at Martin since college - before it's major re-do - it will be interesting to see what it looks like there now.

I had not run Martin in the past, but last summer we spent 4 days there doing the GMPP Crate Engine test with Hot Rod. The track was amazing. They did a great job preping the starting line all week long. We made more than 120 passes over 4 days, and the track was never a issue.

Maybe a kidney or partial liver donation (wait I will be needing as much liver capacity as possible during drag week), yes that is probably good for 3 or 4 pounds off the total car weight
