The mother of all original Studebakers....For you Joe.

I have been talking about this car for a while. It is my Grandfathers....He purchased it from the original owner 8 years ago. The original owner was my Step-mothers-Step-mothers first husband. He drove it for 6 months and then got hit by a car and could no longer drive a stick. It is a 63' Studebaker Lark w/ a Straight 6 and 3 on the tree. It has 2800 miles on it and still rolls on factory rubber. It still smells new. I love it. Here are the pictures.

Fantastic! There was a PAIR of 1-owner Studes in HEMMINGS not too long ago. BOTH CARS were purchased by the same guy(1 for Him & 1 for His Wife...)and kept them in a private Garage on their Estate(must have been 'loaded'/$$....) :o. Anyway, the 1'st Car was a '63 Lark like yours, while the guy's Wife was given/bought a new '65 Daytona Hardtop. Lark had the L6,while the '65 Daytona had a 327 Stude V8. Neither Car had more than 1500 miles :o. Long story short:---the Children of the owners were asking $30-Grand each :o. ~J/W-006.

          Seth -
THANKS for posting the pics. It's absolutely WONDERFUL! My little heart is going pitty-pat (you know that's not all that good for me). Once you have a place for it, get it, save it, love it, and drive it just a little.

Was it just washed in those pics, or is it that condensation.

Condensation....It was about 20 degrees in the garage.

It isn't mine yet.....YET. I have made it clear to my grandfather that I would like to buy it off of him, but I don't have the cash.....Soon though.

Oh...and BTW it runs like it is 2 days old.

                  Totally badass!

I'm not a huge stude fan, but that there is a piece of history.

There is a little part of me that wants to stick a screaming small block in it and go do wheelies. ;D

                    I must resist.....AAAHhhhhhhhh

Better be a Stude motor. There are guys running high 12's on 289 inches of South Bend derived power!

wicked cool - it could probably have a place in the henry ford museum - but that would be a shame - I say once you have a good place to store it and the 'bu - you'll have a good start on the best of both worlds - the sweet old timer I6 smooth running ice cream getter, and the bat outta heck high revving tire smoker.
