    Waste of a day

I spent a good share of the day trying to get 3 brush piles started (remains of old ceder stumps).... too cold, too wet, not enough accellerants.

    I really need napalm.

Well, at least you didn't spend all afternoon spreading SAND over ice & snow on your 1/4mile-long hilly driveway so that the dang propane delivery truck can get up the f'n hill. :

I had similar problems with a wet brushpile. I was out of diesel. What ended up working like a champ? cardboard box and a leaf blower! Box kept going out until I blew on it with the gas powered fan.

              Re: Waste of a day

Woke up an hour late for work today because the radio station my alarm is set to was not broadcasting so all was quiet. Find 8" of snow outside that was not there last night. Get to work to see atrocious road conditions (even more snow at the mine) and no support equipment running in the pit I kind of needed to go to for TWO samples at the top of a hill (still snowing like crazy). So I called the lab and told them they aren't getting samples today. Started swapping out an Ore Control Computer to a newer faster one when the power started to flicker on and off until it goes out completely. After waiting an hour in the dark I went home at 11:30am.

The rest of the day I spent shovelling snow out of my driveway, my friends car out of the snow the plow buried it in and hanging out indoors.
              Escaped on a technicality.

I guess I had a great day today! weather was nice, went to the big city in wife's new truck to deliver kiddo back to college. He was home for the weekend helping the younger kiddos with the robot design/building. And visited my mom for a little while.

There was an inch of snow that wasn't supposed to be there as well... however, not to the level of your misery

Maybe I should try to get a job as a weatherman, after all - everyone tells me how wrong I am - why not get paid for being wrong?
