Who would have thought that a mistake - big block hood on a small block - would be a valuable selling point?

The story goes that a screwdriver used to pry the hoods out of the mold got dropped in and damaged the mold for flat hoods and they ran out of the flat hoods before it was fixed so for about a week of production small block cars were built with big block hoods.

There are very few cars that are perfect right off the showroom floor, but those mid year Corvettes are cars that I would change a thing on.
