Lately I've been taking a lot of pictures of cars in my neighborhood.
So I figured I'd start a thread & post some pics.

First off is this clean 1940 Pontiac from GA.
Pretty sure the guy said his name was Russ.
I told him about Bangshift & I hope he joins us.

He's looking for a grille emblem, & both bumper brackets.
Anyone have any ideas where to get these?



Kept the old Poncho logo.



Mild build Pontiac 400/TH400. I sold him a 200R4 w/multifit case for better mileage.
(and if the Poncho motor expires he can SBC it lol!)



Those wheels look pretty good on this car.



Sidepipes, with a raspy but not obnoxious tone.



Ferd 9", nuff said.



1940 Plate of course.



The car sits a bit high, but like Russ said, you're never done workin on them.



A 90-ish Roadbasterd donated this comfy pair seats, they look & fit good..



The clock is another thing on the to do list...

I love the silver streak..but later year. the one in photo makes more sense, no extreme extended fender onto doors. The long fender sis my favorite.

..those look way better down low. making a gasser look, no bumper..not for me. It is nice just to see one at all , nice car.

Nice car. The bumper brackets should be pretty easy to make but I got nothin' in the badge.

Boy would I love to own that car.

The color looks perfect and it is sitting just right. Beautiful done interior and the entire car just looks so classic and yet it has that very distinctive Gasser look to it.

It must be Pontiac month this month or something!
Today an old man named Jim stopped by with his 39 Pontiac.

Here's what Jim's got.. She's bone stock, & mostly original with a flathead 6, 3 on the tree. Jim drives this car daily. He told me he traded a 30 Model A & a truck for it. He got tired of not being able to drive freeway speeds in the Model A & he always wanted another 30's Pontiac. He had a 30's Pontiac when he got married, his recently wife passed away, & this car puts a smile on his face, makes him remember good times when he was a young man.



































Jim's brakes were hanging up on the drivers side, he was having overheating problems & was looking for a spare wheel so I hooked him up with my friend Matt. Matt is restoring a 36 Oldsmobile & had a few spare wheels layin around. I just got off the phone with Matt, he told me Jim stopped by for few hours today. Matt hooked him up with a wheel, soldered his radiator, & un-seized his brake adjusters & got the brakes working for him. That made me feel really good, I like helping old timers when ever I can, & Matt's the man for doing what he did. It was pleasant talking with Jim, I'm glad I met him & got to see his cool old car & make a new friend in the process.

The '39 is way cool and I'm glad your buddy was able to sort it out a bit. Looks like it has some wiring issues as well but all in good time.

Look what Red found at work today- His long-lost brother! At the training facility, I was passing through on an errand and some outsiders were meeting there. I WILL find out who's driving this other car, and we'll talk about it. It looks like they used wider aftermarket wheels and lower profile tires to lower it, if nothing else has been done underneath.

I'm a long way (maybe never) from new tires after getting the G-Force set to run The Mile, but I like this look. Not wild about the wheel pattern, but being me, I'd never thought about lowering the car with tires and wheels. The other tires look a lot wider, too.
