Yet ANOTHER .....RED BALL Express...Chowchilla,Ca to Memphis,Tn via Las Vegas....

I have to drop off my ZO6 Vette in Memphis on Sept 28th and haul back a 53' LQ Race Trailer....the plan is to leave the West on Sept 24/25th and stop in Las Vegas for a VIP BBQ at the Flamingo I'm invited to on the 25th. Then we'll go through Boulder to hit the 40 and shoot all the way across. We plan on using 3 drivers to drive almost straight through. I'd be more than happy to meet up with some of you guys along the way. There is a possibility at this point that you may be able to track us AND there maybe possibly be a bearded guest going.....give you a hint...it's not Abe Lincoln or Santa Claus...although his cheeks do get RED....it just depends on his schedule.....we will see !!!!

Here's what will be on the UHAUL trailer headed there....

Here's what we are picking up.......

Chassis, I'll keep ya'll posted my whereabouts on the other 'red ball' thread... If we're in the same general neighborhood, maybe I'll slow down to let you catch up, or vice versa.
Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

That is a beautiful Z06 Corvette! And I love that trailer too! Too bad you are not going through the big bear area or close to it!
Life is too short to drive boring cars!

What are you pulling the new trailer with?

Are you aware of the new 65" rule for motor homes pulling trailers?

Many of the guys with race trailers are selling the longer trailers and starting to use stacker trailers more to get under the 65 rule.

I believe that the new rule states no motor home and trailer can be longer then 65' with getting fined at each DOT stop.

Not sure how it effects toter homes but for anyone who uses a 40' motor home it would mean going back to a 24 or 25 foot trailer and that simply won't work for most race teams pulling a tag trailer.

Going with a 35" motor home and a 30" stacker are becoming more popular each day with the racing guys unless you like paying the fines.

Right now you can find some good deals on motor homes over 35' in length and the same thing is true for trailers longer then 40' feet in length because no one is use how they would comply with the new laws.

If you live close to your local drag strip this may not mean anything to you but if you travel the highways to races it's something to think about before making a purchase.

You can always purchase a New semi but that really starts to cost big bucks.

I have a beefed up F350 Super Duty that hauls my 40' trailer all over. BUT....I've been looking into getting an F650 ..(and I have an 2010 Freightliner with sleeper)... both of these trucks will barely squeeze into the 65' length rule when connected to the the truck...I currently posses a California CDL and have CA# on the truck along with an interstate auto transport license....I got it covered but thanks for the info for others out there...
